One Wild Read

One Wild Read
Today (9/18/26), every student at the Upper Elementary received a copy of the novel The Tale of Despereaux to read with their families at home and discuss with their peers at school.
This schoolwide reading program, One Wild Read, is an exciting opportunity to bring families and our school community together through a shared love of reading. The program is designed to strengthen reading instruction, encourage family involvement, connect learning between home and school, and build a strong reading community.
Over the next five weeks, students will celebrate and explore the novel with their classmates through trivia, prizes, and other fun and engaging activities. Families will also have the opportunity to join us for a PTA Family Movie Night featuring The Tale of Despereaux. More information about this event will be shared with families soon.
To make reading together at home easier, each chapter has been recorded and posted on the library website by students and teachers throughout LR. Students have received the reading schedule and a QR code that provides quick access to the website and recorded chapters.
